Glastonbury 2011: Festival Fashion
So this year’s Glastonbury Festival absolutely flew by! I can’t believe it’s done and dusted already. Unlike last year (5 days of sunshine) – the weather was very unpredictable and definitely not the heatwave I’d been hoping for.
Luckily I’d packed for most eventualities – though – the first day saw me wishing I’d invested in a waterproof onesie as it relentlessly hailstoned while we were putting the tent up!
The main festival trends were as I’d expected this year – denim cut offs, oversized shirts and waxed jackets galore! Though, the prevailing rain on the first couple of days meant that the festival was awash with rain coats and cagoules. When the sun did come out, especially on the Sunday, the most popular go-to items included flower headresses, tassled waistcoats and playsuits.
My go-to items were vintage jumpers, sheer shirts and denim shorts worn with Raybans. When it got cooler in the evenings, I opted for plaid shirts layered over mottle effect t-shirts and leggings. Unfortunately when it rained, it poured and so the ground was a mud bath. Needless to say my festival outfits were always accompanied by thick knee high socks and wellies! You literally couldn’t go anywhere without them.
