Day 4: What I'm Wearing
Day Four and again I went for pops of neon. Just because once again it was a dull day. I was rushing out in the morning and I’m finding the easiest thing is to keep to the same two pair of shoes – the black NEXT loafers and, as shown here, those fabulous platforms (which did I mention are really comfortable? You can actually run in them – on cobblestones! It’s true).
I have a locker in the photographer’s press room (I’m not kidding, the British Fashion Council think of everything) so I tend to sprint over from Embankment Tube in the flats and change to the platforms. I’ve noticed that most outfits – everything so far – can work well and be equally transformed with either of these two basics. And that bag! I don’t want to wear anything else.
Layers included: black bowler hat by NEXT (that’s another thing – who knew that hats could keep you so WARM? It’s true, that 70% thing), and a favourite vintage totally faux chocolate brown coat from the 50s or 60s that I found on Portobello Road.
The lime green jumper is old and inexpensive, leopard bangle also by NEXT (available in store now), and the black silky knit dress, as per Day Two, worn here as a jumper. My only sad note of the day is somewhere along the way, while pulling off my gloves, I seem to have lost my silver NEXT ring. I still have the round one but you might see it in some shots and then later in the self portrait it’s gone. Gone but not forgotten.
