Such is the case with all Julys in the fashion calendar, we spend a good deal of it looking ahead to what we’ll be wearing come Christmas! Yep, sounds strange – but it’s when press are planning what will feature in their Autumn issues. Luckily we’re big fans of the festive season here at Next HQ so it’s all good with us!
The winter season is all about wrapping up warm, crunching on fallen leaves and most of all – PARTYING, so naturally our catwalk show haaaad to emulate all of these things! For the ladies, there were lots of Victoriana references with low hemlines, a dark colour palette and an abundance of lace and frills. Sequins were also plentiful and featured on everything from show stopping dresses to bold cluster stilettos. And let’s not forget outerwear as we’ll be back in coats come Christmas… Premium trench coats and cosy shearling gilets were THE go-to’s.
For men, Christmas attire has stepped up a gear with a seriously rich colour palette offset with cool, alpine influences. Printed tailoring is set to be a wardrobe staple too, neatly paired with roll neck sweaters and super suave bow-ties. We’re also REALLY crushing on the thick brushed wool coats with a fur collar for extra pizzazz!
For girls it was all about encapsulating the magic of Christmas with cosy bouclé’s and brushed wools interspersed with tonal metallics and subtle sparkle. Nordic styling for boys saw chevron printed snuggly knits, textured jerseys and hand drawn graphics taking centre stage.
So that’s what you can expect to see in store and online next season, for now – you can enjoy our AUTUMN COLLECTIONS, featuring plenty of transitional pieces to see out the summer… Happy shopping!
