Well Christmas time is over once more and we all ate, drank and were merry. And for most families at least one member of the household appeared to have some sort of bug or another. Meadow’s wardrobe now no longer closes, her savings account has a very healthy balance and we have more books and toys than all the Essex branches of Toys ‘R’ us put together! Our childrens film collection has vastly expanded both from gifts and the sky plus box so we are raring to go for a clean out and toy update in January!

Our family and friends have well and truly spoilt Meadow, as children should be at Christmas. Little ones make the festive season so much for fun from putting a letter out for Santa to ripping open presents and cards! On Christmas day, not only were the four of us all kitted out in clean PJs but festive headwear too – Santa hat for me, ‘Bah, humbug’ hat for robin, foam antlers for Meadow and a festive bow tie for cooks, (cookie got spoilt rotten too – new bowl, new collar, new toys!). Boxing day was spent indulging in more turkey at Robin’s mums with his family plus Meadow and Cookie pulling more crackers (hilarious), we also played a festive board game – kind of – none of us could understand the instructions even though it was for kids!

On the 28th we packed the car and headed up North to see my family for New Year. The car took ages to pack but over an hour to unpack on the way home – as on top of all my sale shopping (whoops) and the luggage… we gained a dolly pram and a sack full of opened pressies! My dad made a beautiful Dolls House but luckily that’s stayed put until they visit us so it doesn’t get broken!

It was great having a house full of babysitters and I got a girlie night out with old school friends and a date night with Robin – food and cinema, whilst meadow had fun with Nana, Grandad, her Uncles and Aunt Cara. 2013 will be a busy one for us, Meadow will be getting a new cousin, we have two weddings and a christening already pencilled in as well as Meadow’s birthday holiday in May and in two weeks I’m going to see Viva Forever – the Spice Girl musical for my birthday – very exciting!

Work wise, I’ll be starting book two this year and hope that it’s half as well received as my first released in October! Right, I will have to love you and leave you I’m off to tidy my toyshop again, but happy New Year – I hope 2013 is a good one for you…
