Fashion influencer Lizzy Hadfield of Shot From The Street is a self confessed denim obsessor. Jeans comprise a huge part of her enviable wardrobe and it’s no surprise she’s become a dab hand at styling them. Intrigued by Lizzy’s unwavering love of denim, we teamed up with Stylist to bring you her must-have looks for spring that you can shop straight from this post.
“Pairing white straight leg jeans with loafers and a longline blazer is ideal for when you want to impress.”
Nothing beats denim when it comes to versatility. Jeans can be super laidback, ‘smasual’ (the word Lizzy uses to describe smart casual) and even dressed up for ‘best’ provided you choose the right wash. If you’re stuck in a wardrobe rut, a quick and easy update is to add white jeans to your denim collection. Before you write us off as completely mad, we’re thinking ahead to spring and days with zero chance of rain… remember them? Nope, us neither. Lizzy says; “Pairing white straight leg jeans with loafers and a longline blazer is ideal for when you want to impress”. From date night to a business meeting you want to boss, Lizzy’s blazer and all-white outfit will give you standout appeal and oodles of confidence.
When it comes to the smart casual spectrum, Lizzy sits comfortably in the middle. With a proven ability to style jeans for pretty much any scenario, it’s the smasual (catchy, eh?) looks Lizzy wears most. Despite being inherently casual, a Vans and hoody combo is instantly transformed with the addition of a check blazer.
“I like my black denim high-waisted, straight-fitting and cropped at the ankle.”
Sales of high rise jeans have rocketed over recent months and it’s clear why – they emphasise our waist and suck in everything below our belly button. Hallelujah! The newest (or most retro, depending on how you look at it) shape on the block is the cropped straight leg. Lizzy’s a fan; “I like my black denim high-waisted, straight-fitting and cropped at the ankle”. A simple sweater tucked in and worn with a belt is a considered look that works well with both heels or flats. Converse are Lizzy’s trainer of choice.
“Skinny jeans – best worn with a huge knit and a massive cup of tea in-hand.”
We can’t forget the humble skinny jean. Despite the popularity of straighter styles, skinnies are still the nation’s favourite. But when it comes to comfort, Lizzy contemplates: “While my love of skinny denim is obvious, even I have to admit that sometime movement can be minimal.” We ALL know the struggle of trying to retrieve an object we’ve dropped… Luckily, our 360 jeans are the perfect solution: “They’ve got four-way stretch technology, which means not only are they ultra-skinny, they’re ultra-comfy, too.” Make like Lizzy and wear with a chunky knit.
