We love the sleekness of New York, the coolness of London and the confectionary delights of Paris, but Milan this season has been the surprise fashion week star, thanks in no small part to the arrival of Jeremy Scott at the house of Moschino. Jeremy is a firm A-lister favourite and the show was anticipated with a fever usually reserved for Ms Prada’s Milanese wonders. The rumours were rife that Jeremy would be bringing along some of his Hollywood pals, and the line of supermodels behind the scenes and editors on the front row was a veritable hit list of who’s who in fashion in 2014.

Taking direction from legendary brands that aren’t exactly fashion fodder, Moschino lilted on McDonalds, Spongebob Squarepants, Budweiser, Hersheys… you name a primary coloured super-corporation, and Moschino probably made a fabulous dress out of it. From the McNuggets handbag (really!) to the Hershey’s Kisses ballgown, one superstar we could see rocking these on the red carpet was of course, Queen of Candyland herself, Katy Perry. So who better for Jeremy to invite to parade down the catwalk than Ms Perry… yep, for one night only, Katy Perry : Supermodel was in the house.

In one of the most wearable looks of the collection, Katy looked like a sort of Harajuku Chanel muse from 1984. Her immaculate bob was cheekily tied with a headscarf, and she dripped in black and gold quilting, a definite nod to the classic Chanel styles and cementing Milan as the fun younger brother to Paris’ defined chicness. We’re absolutely loving this tongue-in-cheek retro statement, and sometimes, we need to drop the chic and embrace the FUN in fashion! So, get the Moschino look with these staples-with-a-twist…

Our Textured Blazer Coat is a fab alternative to Moschino’s chain-link wonder. To keep it ladylike, we’d team it with our Black Panel Bodycon and super statement necklace! These Ankle Strap Platform shoes add a touch of retro glam while the Chain Shoulder Bag introduces some hardware (the ultimate accessory to nail Katy’s look!).

Will you be dipping your toe into AW14 already, or should we wait until the sun comes out before we plunge head first?! Maybe we’re just very fashion impatient…
