The past week and few days has been an incredibly exciting time for British sport. As a nation, we have anxiously awaited the start of London 2012 for the past 7 years and now that it is finally here – we’ve come to realise, it’s been everything we wanted and more… all clichés aside. No matter who you speak to, there will always be one person who’s opinion on the Games has completely changed. Whereas before they might have turned their noses up, NOW you can bet your bottom dollar that they are glued to their tv screens and refreshing the TeamGB twitter feed every 5 minutes! You can’t deny it has been a monumental occasion and one we must be very proud to witness.

It certainly goes to show that the support from your country works wonders. The home crowds have been cheering on Our Greatest Team at the top of their lungs and it has not gone unnoticed by the athletes! So far, Team GB have beaten their Gold medal count in the Beijing Olympics AND set a post-war record, with 22 Golds, 13 Silvers and 13 Bronze medals.

There’s just a few days left to go until the Olympics Closing Ceremony but for now, let’s honour some of the athletes that have made us feel very proud to be British!
